The global economy is being reshaped by artificial intelligence, and Mississippi has the opportunity to lead in this new landscape. The Mississippi AI Center is a strategic initiative designed to execute the 2023 Innovation Plan and build a foundation for long-term economic growth.

The core strategy

Build a vertically integrated AI value chain for Mississippi.

The core strategy is to build a vertically integrated value chain that addresses Mississippi-specific challenges. This involves creating “Made-in-Mississippi” AI models, trained on local data, for key industries including agriculture, maritime, and manufacturing.

These models will be hosted on the Mississippi AI Commons, a digital public utility that lowers the barrier to entry for local entrepreneurs while strengthening the state's research and innovation ecosystem.

What we can do

A statewide hub-and-spoke network.

The Center will operate as a hub-and-spoke network anchored in Jackson's Landmark Building, with regional spokes aligned with Mississippi's economic clusters.

This structure is designed to help Mississippi compete for and win transformative federal support, including opportunities like NSF Regional Innovation Engines and EDA Tech Hubs.
